These our some of my handy dandy helpers!! I don't know what I would do without them...
yes I do, improvise! and we all know how that works. ;)
- I love my Pampered Chef Cookbooks. They are wonderful and most recipes are simple and yummy. I do make some of things from scratch, but not always.
- My Purple Folder... or as Hannah calls is... Mom's book. I love this folder... it is sectioned into 3 double sided pocket style pages with smaller closing pockets in the front. I keep everything from school to the title to the trash trailer to my Costco lists to important need to have handy papers. I use the smaller pocket for every, and I mean EVERY receipt we get (more on that later... :)..).
- My planner... I really do not like carrying purses, don't know why, but I don't. So this planner was great, it has handles that slide in to a front pocket to carry or shove them back in and carry in a bag. This is my day to day most important, I would die if I lost it, no one moves it, do not touch, tool. It has all of my addresses, phone numbers, calendar, things to do list, and anything else that must be written down... which is how we get to where we need to go, Hannah gets lunch money or snacks for her class, my papers and homework get turned in, bills get paid, Dad gets to his appointments (since we have to drive him)... Well it is just all of it in one nice little package. :)
- Our dry erase board that usually is host to our menu and any family papers that need to be signed and returned. So if Hannah brings home a permission slip, she brings it her and hangs it, or if Todd/I have anything that the other one needs to see sign or file this is where it goes. Also, this is where I keep the things I think about that we need or that must be done that I do not want to forget. It is placed on the wall next to our bed... I see when I go to sleep and when I get up. I love this! I always come up with something right before bed and I have a place to write it down.
Ok, I am going to say it... I hate this word, oh how I hate this word... oh, I am not going to say it... It begins with an "A" and ends with an "L" and is 4 letters. Lazy _ _ _ _ Retentive. That is me in a nut shell. Do you need to go this far, most definitely not! It works for me and after 2 very long years of finding what works this is what I have come up with. I will probably scar my child and make people think I am a little Cooke (is that even a word?) but, it is what is.
*The receipt thing... If you spend more in sales tax than what the IRS alots for, you can write it off and we get to itemize this next year. Hence, saving every receipt.
So, lists help to keep me on track... How about you?

Thanks for letting us in on your trade secrets, Windy. I admire your fortitude for finding systems that help you stay stress-free and have more quality time with your family.
My organization -- which needs improvement -- is composed of 4 things:
1. To do list
2. Wall calendar
3. A couple of filing systems -- one for pending and the other for filed.
4. A "flip" book, which I'll need to blog about to explain. Maybe later today.
