For all my Retro Girls...

Hanna and I love this little store... they have such great stuff! Well, I found out they are closing and were not open every time I went by. Oh, if I only lived closer... actually, not a good thing. :) I wanted to post this because of its motif, it is as Retro as I have seen in a while. :)

A few Debi Cates inspired photos... :)

(My favorite!)

The doors of Superior...
The towns we are visiting this trip are old mining towns. The history of the west lies among some of these windows, doors and more...

Photo Safari II ~ Hannah's View

The kids are asleep... I thought I would post a few photos. These are photos Hannah took after we dropped Todd off at work on the side of the road and I started driving. :) Enjoy!

Doors, Windows and Road Signs...

Today,we left for Superior, AZ on another photo safari... No animals, but lots of cow signs.

Do you know how many of these signs there were between here and there? 10 or more, I stopped counting! :)

It always amazes me ... How rich in history this corner of the state is. We passed through many mining towns. These towns architecture shows the age of the town and oh, how beautiful they are. We will be venturing out more tomorrow and do a little picture taking, antiquing, and just having fun.

OK, we dropped him off on the side of the road, but it is his job. ;)

P.S. I am playing around with posting too, figuring out the photo size, so please excuse me. :)

Gila Bend, AZ

Gila Bend, AZ...
What can you say? HOT!
I wanted to include more info. about the photos, but I really did not have that much. :)
Here is a link to the city if you would like to read up on... but really, what more is there to say, HOT!!
We stayed at the Space Age Lodge, which is interesting in itself. "Space Age"... the murials are painted in the main lobby, which is circular and has tons of photos of the shuttle, moon walk and other "space" items. The restaraunt was also space age decorated... Very interesting. ;)
The figurines in the photos are works of metal and are very beautiful. I want a bunch of them... can you see it now, if we ever had to move we would have a trailer of metal art work to cart around. hehhehehe Todd says "NO WAY!!"... oh, come on... :)
P.S. Debi, looky, mountains... :)

Welcome to Gila Bend, AZ Part I

Welcome to Gila ("hee-la") Bend, Arizona... "Crossroads of the Southwest".

1700 friendly people and 5 old crabs, gotta love it!

We have ventured around to see what we could see...

A town that once thrived and is slowly deteriorating. The mine up the ways closed down and thus, the change of the town.

Can anyone tell me what is different in this photo?

Well, we are off to find some more interesting spots and learn about the rich history of this town. We will be adding more tomorrow... See you then!!
