National Ice Cream Day

Did you know that today is National Ice Cream day?
Yippie, any excuse to have a scoop right?!

Two Interesting facts about Ice Cream:
  1. In 1984, dessert-lover Ronald Reagan designated July as a time to honor America's favorite sweet.
  2. Because ice cream is made from milk, it's a source of calcium - something every girl needs! To develop strong bones, girls need to eat 120 percent of the Daily Value (DV) for calcium every day—that's 1,200 mg of calcium. One half-cup of ice cream provides 6 percent of the DV. One half-cup of frozen yogurt provides 10 percent of the DV. One cup of a milkshake provides 25 percent of the DV and cup of milk provides 30 percent of the DV. *brought to you by Girl Power.

Todd's favorite is Vanilla and Hannah's favorite is Vanilla with Oreos... Yummy!

Dad's favorite is Pistachio... (I like it too!)

My all time favorite is Chocolate with any kind of gooey with it!!

Strawberry... good in shakes or ice cream sandwiches.

Ok, this just looked good! :)
So in honor of National Ice Cream Day we will be having a little bit of every bodies favorite tonight after dinner... would you like to join us?! Come on over!!
What is you favorite kind of Ice Cream?

Woot! I don't feel so guilty about eating chocolate chip ice cream for breakfast (Which is my absolute favorite). David calls me lame. David doesn't have a favorite, he loves all kinds of ice cream.

We all scream for ice cream, right?

Hard to pick for me. I alternate between Dutch Chocolate, Strawberry, and Pecans Pralines n Cream. Texas company Blue Bell is my brand of choice.

Blue Bell is very nice, but there is a dairy here that has equally fantastic Ice Cream. Byrne. (Pronounced like burn)

Goo Goo Cluster? Mmmmm sounds yummy. Well my all-time favorite is just plain vanilla, but when I can get it I love Baskin Robins Black Walnut best. They only have it certain months, and now that I have gotten, well plump, I don't get to eat it very often.

All looks so tasty - but it is breakfast time here, so I guess I have to wait...

My hubby got me started on Ben and Jerry's...I don't know if I will ever forgive him.:):):) I like whatever flavor has the most "stuff" in it--brownie chunks, white chocolate, caramel, etc. And I have been known to add chocolate syrup on top of everything else. Total decadence!!

Fortunately B&J's is too expensive for me to get very often.
