Shedding those pounds...

Ladies... Ok, I have set a goal to loose 30lbs, yes count them, 30lbs. Who wants to join in the challenge? :) Tips, stories, advice, it is all welcomed!! I will be journaling every day and would love the support of all of our Blog'n friends. :)
Todd and I are going to slowly adopt a Mediterranean style of eating and up our exercise as much as possible. Todd thinks he is getting old and really wants to make sure he is healthy and stays healthy and wants to teach Hannah more on this subject.
So day 1 is tomorrow (I need to go grocery shopping) but I will add a day of walking today. So whose in? :) Anyone, anyone.... hehehehe
Also, goal is, going to Mississippi for Christmas and I would like to get some new clothes!

YOU CAN DO IT!!!
The first week is the hardest. Remember to push your self through it by saying, "I can do this" and YOU WILL!

My only advice is eat as much as usual but just eat differently -that way the weight will disappear and you won't falter and fail on the dieting - you won't feel hungry and you won't plateau. My husband lost around 30 lbs, maybe more, that way - also we used to go for a quick walk before breakfast - means getting up a bit earlier, but it really really works. I should do it myself after all our house guests go home -

You know what, Windy, COUNT ME IN! I need to lose too. More than 30, but 30 would make me feel wonderful! On Mondays I'll be sure to post my week's goals and my past week's progress.

I agree, the Mediterranean diet is a good choice. Lots of vegetables, a moderate amount of meat, olive oil, and for desert fruit. That's the way we ate in Lebanon and that's the way my thin friends there still eat.

My goal is 15 lbs. If I can lose just 15 I'll be back to the way I was just out of high school. I looked at some old photos of me and I nearly vomited right then and there. I don't want to get any heavier than I am right now. 15 lbs isn't much, but it would make me feel much better. I'm in. Curves! Here I come!

Oh, and I need help in my diet... but I'm so scared of diets it's not even funny.

Hey girls...

Wonderful!! I am going to start posting a menu every Sunday (the other menu that I already had planned, well, it is in the trash!)This will be great!!

Audrey... Diet, it is another 4 letter word in mind. Over 9 years ago I lost 120 lbs. (divorce will do that to ya) and it is a life style change, or at least I like to think of it that way. :) We have fallen in to the easy way again and with school and it just being me and Hannah 4 dinners a week we dont always follow the rules.

Your right about not wanting to... add anymore weight, you have won half the battle and now if I could get my mind to kick in like that it would be great!! :)

I know what... An incentive for all of us!! HHHmmm, I am going to have to think on this one.

Good luck and we can do it!!

Go Windy!!!!! I've heard that a Mediterranean diet it the healthiest one you can eat.

We are yo-yo healthy eaters...we do really well for awhile and then totally fall off the wagon and eat horribly until we feel so bad that we get back onto healthy stuff. This past summer I have gained about ten pounds from stress bingeing...ugh! So I'd love to do this with you. I may not blog about it much because I try to keep my blog focused more on general family/ministry news, but I will definitely keep up with your blog and comment on our progress from time to time.

My goals for this week:
No binging.
30 min. on the treadmill at least four times
whole grains, lots of fruits and veggies and limited meat
limited sugar (I won't say no sugar because if I totally deny myself, then I crash and burn!)

I am in, well as much as I can be and without the goal of losing weight since I am prego. But I do not want to gain too much with this one, I gained 60 with Katlynn and it made the pregnancy so hard. Plus I have Audrey's wedding 2 1/2 months after I deliver.

Since being so sick, I have started eating much smaller meals and more frequently and that really seams to help me. I have started making much better choices and trying to stick as close to natural foods as I can, a pregnant ladies version of Weight Watchers Core program.

So good luck to all of you. We can all do it with everyone's support.
